In-House Medical Billing/Coding Specialist


Las Vegas Radiology is seeking a full-time, experienced In-House Medical Billing/Coding Specialist. The ideal candidate will comfortably hit the ground running, so they can handle the day-to-day workload with tight deadlines while balancing the competing demands on a variety of projects. A successful candidate in this role must be able to think logically in order to troubleshoot and perform work in a continuously changing work environment.

The Medical Billing/Coding Specialist is responsible for all functions of medical billing and coding, follow-up and collection. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Documenting patient account activity
  • Posting payments
  • Following up on Explanation of Benefits
  • Reviewing medical records, Radiology reports and hospital procedure reports and      abstract ICD-10, CPT, and HCPS codes.
  • Using coded data to produce and submit claims to insurance companies
  • Working directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid
  • Reviewing and appealing unpaid and denied claims
  • Verifying patients’ insurance coverage
  • Answering patients’ billing questions
  • Handling collections on unpaid accounts
  • Maintain patient confidentiality

Must-have experience:

  • Knowledge of Nevada insurances
  • Experience in CPT and ICD-10 coding
  • CPC highly preferred
  • Microsoft Office experience in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
